A tank manufacturer in Indianapolis partnered with Egenolf Industrial Group to safely remove and relocate a large-capacity tank within their facility. Weighing approximately 115,000 pounds, the tank presented significant challenges due to its size, length, and the tight working environment inside the building.
With limited space, overhead constraints, and the need to maintain full control of the load, Egenolf was brought in to plan and execute a precise rigging and machinery moving solution that prioritized safety, stability, and efficiency throughout every phase of the project.
Scope of Work
Egenolf Industrial provided a coordinated rigging and relocation strategy, including:
- Multi-Machine Rigging Approach: Utilized a Tri-Lifter in combination with high-capacity lift trucks to properly distribute the 115,000-pound load across multiple lift points.
- Controlled Interior Movement: Carefully lifted and maneuvered the tank through the facility while navigating tight clearances, overhead crane systems, and existing equipment.
- Precision Load Management: Maintained constant communication and real-time coordination between operators to ensure alignment and reduce stress on the tank during movement.
- Facility Extraction: Safely removed the tank from the fabrication area and transitioned it from interior conditions to exterior surfaces.
- Exterior Relocation: Continued the move outside the facility, maintaining load balance and control across changing ground conditions.
