Batesville Stamping Press Relocation
Industry:
- Rigging
Location:
Clinton, Illinois
Services Provided:
- Machinery Relocation, Project Management, Removal, Rigging, Storage, Transportation
Project Overview
Egenolf Industrial Group was selected to manage the removal, transportation, storage, and relocation of a large stamping press across multiple locations. The project required detailed planning, coordinated logistics, and precise rigging to safely transition the equipment from the customer’s Clinton, Illinois facility to Egenolf’s warehouse before final delivery to Batesville.
Due to the size and weight of the press, the project demanded specialized lifting equipment, experienced operators, and seamless coordination between multiple teams throughout each phase of the operation.
Scope of Work
Egenolf Industrial provided complete rigging and relocation support, including:
- Stamping Press Removal: Safely removed the press from the Clinton facility using a 75-ton mobile lift designed to maintain controlled lifting and precise positioning within the facility.
- Rigging & Machinery Handling: Managed the complex rigging requirements necessary to safely maneuver and extract the oversized equipment while maintaining strict safety and clearance standards.
- Transportation Services: Utilized Egenolf’s internal fleet to securely load and transport the stamping press, ensuring proper weight distribution, load integrity, and road-safe transport conditions.
- Warehouse Storage: Relocated and stored the equipment at the Egenolf warehouse, where it remained protected and staged for the next phase of transportation.
- Final Relocation Coordination: Coordinated the continued transportation and delivery process to Batesville as part of the project’s multi-phase execution.
- Project Management & Team Coordination: Oversaw communication and scheduling between rigging crews, lift operators, drivers, and project managers to ensure efficient transitions between each phase of the move.
Unique Challenges & Solutions
This multi-location project required careful coordination between removal, transport, storage, and relocation operations. Egenolf Industrial addressed these challenges through:
- Heavy Lift Planning: The use of a 75-ton mobile lift allowed for controlled handling of the large stamping press while working within the constraints of the facility.
- Multi-Phase Logistics Coordination: Equipment movement between Clinton, the Egenolf warehouse, and Batesville required precise scheduling and communication to maintain project timelines.
- Internal Fleet Advantage: By utilizing Egenolf’s own fleet and equipment, the team maintained full control over scheduling, transportation quality, and safety standards throughout the project.
- Safety-Focused Execution: Every phase of the operation was planned to minimize risk, protect the equipment, and ensure safe working conditions for all personnel involved.
